What to know

Tested across Europe and Asia. The 2026 verdict on Saily: 8.4 / 10. Best for NordVPN customers and travelers who value the bundled ad blocker.

⚡ TLDR

Saily is NordVPN’s eSIM. The unique value-prop is the bundled ad blocker and virtual location, plus NordVPN brand-trust. We tested across 5 countries to see if the bundle holds up.

  • Verdict at a glance: 8.4 / 10. The right pick for NordVPN customers and travelers who value the ad blocker bundle.
  • Where Saily wins: Brand-trust transfer from NordVPN, bundled ad blocker, regional plan coverage
  • Where Saily loses: Customer support is email-only, FUP transparency mid-tier, capped-plan pricing
  • Best plan tier: Regional Europe / Asia / Americas plans for multi-country trips
  • Skip Saily if: You do not use NordVPN and Airalo or Holafly cover your needs

Saily launched in 2023 as NordVPN’s eSIM offering. The pitch: travel data plus a bundled ad blocker and virtual location, using NordVPN’s carrier relationships for routing. We tested across Spain, France, Japan, Thailand, and the US to see if the bundle delivers and how the eSIM-itself stacks up.

02The ad blocker: actually useful

WikiWalls verdict 8.7 / 10

The bundled ad blocker (NordVPN Lite) blocks ads at the DNS / network layer for the duration of the eSIM plan. Genuinely useful across European and Asian public wifi.

Buy if: you encounter ad-heavy public wifi often. Skip if: you already run NextDNS or Pi-hole on your phone.

The ad blocker is on by default. Across our testing, it blocked ads on hotel wifi captive portals, low-quality cafe wifi, and several airport networks. The “virtual location” feature does not match a full NordVPN VPN but does spoof basic geolocation. Useful for streaming services that georestrict, less useful for serious privacy needs.

03Pricing: regional plans are the sweet spot

WikiWalls verdict 8.5 / 10

Saily’s regional plans (Europe, Asia, Americas) are competitive with Airalo and Holafly. Country-specific plans are mid-pack. Airalo or Maya are usually cheaper.

Buy if: you travel multi-country regions. Skip if: you stay in one country at a time.

Saily Europe at $49.99 / 15-day unlimited (35 countries) is competitive with Holafly. Asia at similar pricing for 19 countries. The regional pattern is where Saily competes hardest.

04Customer support: middle of the pack

WikiWalls verdict 7.0 / 10

Email-only support with a ~5h median response is faster than Airalo but slower than Holafly. Acceptable for normal use, frustrating during travel-day issues.

Buy if: not applicable. Skip if: you have had eSIM activation issues before.

Test ticket: activation question opened at 10:14 AM, response at 3:08 PM (5 hours). Resolved correctly but slower than Holafly’s WhatsApp model. Saily is rolling out chat support; not yet universal.

05Which option should you pick?

Pick by trip pattern

  1. Already a NordVPN customer? → Saily is the right pick. Brand-trust + ad blocker bundle
  2. Multi-country regional travel? → Saily regional plans are competitive
  3. Need fast support? → Holafly’s WhatsApp model is meaningfully better
  4. Want cheapest country-specific plans? → Airalo or Maya beat Saily on price
  5. Heavy uploader? → Saily unlimited works; Holafly is similarly priced and gentler FUP

06FAQ

Is Saily eSIM good in 2026?

Yes. Verdict is 8.4/10. The right pick for NordVPN customers and travelers who value the ad blocker bundle. Mid-pack on price for country-specific plans; competitive on regional plans.

Does the Saily ad blocker actually work?

Yes, at the DNS / network layer. Blocks ads on most cafe and hotel wifi networks during the eSIM plan duration. Less effective than a full ad blocker like uBlock Origin in browser, but useful across all apps.

Is Saily owned by NordVPN?

Yes. Saily is part of Nord Security (NordVPN’s parent company). The brand-trust transfer is real and the carrier-routing partnerships use NordVPN’s existing relationships.

How does Saily compare to Airalo and Holafly?

Saily is mid-pack on price, slightly weaker support, comparable network. The bundled ad blocker is the differentiator. If you do not value that bundle, Airalo (cheaper) or Holafly (better support) are stronger picks.

Does Saily support unlimited plans?

Yes, on regional plans (Europe, Asia, Americas). FUP around 3GB/day similar to Holafly. Country-specific plans tend to be capped.

07WikiWalls verdict

WikiWalls verdict. Saily is the right pick for existing NordVPN customers and travelers who value the bundled ad blocker. Mid-pack on price; better than Airalo on regional plans, weaker than Holafly on support. Skip if you do not use NordVPN and the alternatives meet your needs.
